The Tampa Bay Rays have solidified their position atop the American League East, extending their lead to five games after a decisive 3-0 victory over the New York Yankees on July 8, 2026. Jonathan Aranda was instrumental in the win, driving in all three runs with an RBI single in the third inning, an RBI double in the fifth, and a sacrifice fly in the seventh. On the mound, Shane McClanahan delivered a stellar performance, pitching 6 1/3 innings, allowing four hits, and striking out five without issuing a walk.
