In the past week, the ice hockey world has been marked by significant developments, including player injuries, team acquisitions, and strategic decisions that are shaping the upcoming 2026-27 NHL season.
Player Highlights
Chicago Blackhawks’ star center Connor Bedard underwent left shoulder surgery following an injury sustained during offseason training in Vancouver on July 2. He is expected to miss the start of the regular season, placing additional pressure on teammates like Frank Nazar and Roman Kantserov to step up offensively. Nazar, in particular, is anticipated to fill the top-line center role in Bedard’s absence.
