Over the past week, several significant developments have occurred in the sport of lacrosse:
Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) Secures Major Investment
The PLL announced a record $100 million Series E financing round, marking the largest capital raise in professional lacrosse history. The investment was led by Ares and Joe Tsai, with additional contributions from ESPN, actor and Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney, and actor Glen Powell. As part of the deal, Powell will serve as a Creative Advisor, collaborating with league founders Paul and Mike Rabil to expand lacrosse into Texas by establishing new PLL and Women’s Lacrosse League teams. Ipswich High School Lacrosse Team’s Championship Hopes End in Controversy
The undefeated Ipswich High School lacrosse team was forced to forfeit its state semifinal matchup after nine players were ruled ineligible.
